Why Indian lake peninsula?

DSCN5373                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        Just as there are many people who live on Indian lake peninsula there are numerous reasons  why people move here. Here’s one: the view at the end of the peninsula where drakes creek enters the main part of old  hickory lake:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            DSCN5371                                                                                                                                I’ll tell you why i decided to move to the peninsula : VALUE. That’s right, there is good value here , but you have to really look for it. Along with expensive waterfront houses there is a lot of older original ranchers with very affordable prices.  If  you really study the housing market in Hendersonville  you can find many very good deals. And if you are considering a purchase in Hendersonville there is no better realtor hands down than Debbie Meyers http://debbiemeyers.realtor Indian lake peninsula started to get developed after the formation of Old Hickory dam in the late '50's. By the 60's many houses were being built and Hendersonville became "THE" place to be for many prosperous folks from Nashville. The lake became a big draw and really started to put H'ville on the map. If you look at a map you'll see that south of main street there are 2 peninsula's with the lake at the south border of both. Indian lake is well known as the more prestigious of the two and for good reason. Most of the lots are about an acre (some a good bit more) and there is no commercial development allowed. The "other" peninsula is quite different with commercial businesses , marina's, apartments, etc. ... a lot more activity and more transient population.  (i'll be writing about the walton/saunders ferry peninsula very soon) On Indian lake there are houses for every budget from older vintage 'starter' houses to lakefront mega-mansions... But you don't have to have a waterfront house to enjoy the lake as Stark knob boat ramp is conveniently located on the peninsula...  plenty of parking and it's free to launch your watercraft! \DSCN5420 So... if you like a quiet place to live, with a nice big yard and a boat ramp close by AND close to main street and the town --  check out Indian lake ! thanks for reading, john

Within a mile of the boat ramp is a little known road that is very private and secluded. Here is a view from a section of this road.
